1874 – The Holy Bible | Enormous Illustrated Victorian Bible | 900+ Engravings

A beautiful, huge Holy Bible published in Philadelphia in the late 19th-century. Ornate family Bibles were quite popular in the second half of the 1800s, and this tome is a fine example of enormous, folio family Bibles. Note that this huge volume contains over 900 full-page and in-text illustrations – certainly one of the most profusely illustrated 19^th-century bibles.

Condition:

Very Good. Binding remains firm with secure hinges. Leather shows only mild edge wear consistent with age, with light scuffing to boards. Spine bands and titling remain visible and bright. Internal pages are complete and tight with minor age toning and occasional foxing; no significant tears or markings noted.
