1849 – The Holy Bible | Enormous Illustrated Victorian Bible | Full-Page Engravings
Late 19th-century Cassell folio Holy Bible bound in full leather with full-page engravings, and complete text of the Old and New Testaments, Apocrypha.
A beautiful, huge Holy Bible published in Philadelphia in the late 19th-century. Ornate family Bibles were quite popular in the second half of the 1800s, and this tome is a fine example of enormous, folio family Bibles. Note that this huge volume contains numerous full-page illustrations – certainly one of the most impressive 19th-century bibles.
