1738 – Jesuit German Devotional | Saint Walburga Miracles & Prayer book, Lambertz

Himmlischer Gnaden-Brunn S. Walburgae is a rare, early 18^th-century Jesuit prayer book devoted to Saint Walburga. Walburga is known for her miracle-working aid and missionary lived in the 8^th century. This work, written by Johannes Lambertz, collected numerous daily devotions, confessions, communion guides, and prayers into one book, all of which are centered on Walburga’s miracles. It also includes a curious reference to the healing Walburgis oil – oil believed to have seeped from her tomb and sought by pilgrims since the Middle Ages.
