My Sermon-Notes – Charles H. Spurgeon – 1884 | Complete 4 Volumes, Original Cloth
First edition of Spurgeon’s sermon outlines (1884-87) covering the entire Bible, four volumes bound in cloth-bound octavo volumes, issued by Passmore and Alabaster, London.
My Sermon-Notes by Charles H. Spurgeon, published by Passmore and Alabaster between 1884 and 1887 in London, presents selected outlines from his sermons delivered at the Metropolitan Tabernacle. These volumes contain brief structured summaries of Spurgeon’s preaching, organized by biblical text. These notes were widely used by other ministers during Spurgeon’s lifetime and were valued for their clarity and focus. The original cloth bindings include gilt-stamped titles on the front covers.
Spurgeon wrote and published these ‘sermon-notes’ for other preachers to help them with their sermons. According to the preface in the first volume of this extensive work, Spurgeon states:
“I have prepared these frame-works, not to encourage [laziness], but to help a bewildered industry; and I hope that I have not written so much as to enable any man to preach without thought.”
