1730 – Jakob Böhme – German Mystical Philosophy | Sex Puncta Theosophica
Jakob Böhme’s Sex Puncta Theosophica (1730) presents six symbolic points of theosophy on divine wisdom and creation, printed in the Netherlands in duodecimo format with frontispiece.
Jakob Böhme was an early 17th-century German philosopher known for his theology which was a fusion of Lutheran traditions and mysticism. In 1621, Böhme wrote his most important book De Signatura Rerum, his approach to the Doctrine of Signatures. Following the success of this, his most important work, Böhme wrote numerous other works of “Theosophia”, or works of divine wisdom.
This volume of Sex Puncta Theosophica, published in 1730, includes six of Böhme’s theosophical points that explore divine wisdom, the ground of being, creation, and spiritual life. Its visionary approach distinguishes it from more systematic theological texts, appealing to readers drawn to symbolic and allegorical expressions of faith.
