Secunda Centuria – Johannes Nas – 1568 | anti-Protestant Counter-Reformation
Johannes Nas’s Secunda Centuria, printed in Ingolstadt in 1568, forms the second part of his Catholic polemical series against Protestant teachings, preserved here in full vellum.
Secunda Centuria, das ist das ander Hundert, der Evangelischen wahrheit, written by Johannes Nas was the second part of polemical writings against Protestant teachings. Published in 1568, Nas attacks Martin Luther and his teachings, denounces those associated with Protestant doctrine, and urged Catholics to remain steadfast in their faith. Surviving examples of Counter-Reformation literature are rare, and this vellum-bound tome is no exception.
