This book became one of the most valuable references to understanding classical antiquity. This 1582 edition is notable for including a separate treatise on Turkish military customs by Francesco Sansovino, Informatione della Militia Turchesca, & de gli Habiti de Soldati Turchil. The 57 full-page engravings depict military scenes, soldiers and cavalry, Turkish bards and sultans, and a large folding chart.
