Discorso del S. Guglielmo Choul sopra la castrametatione, & bagni antichi de i greci, & romani by Guillaume Du Choul is a 16th-century survey of ancient Roman military camps and Greco-Roman baths. This book became one of the most valuable references to understanding classical antiquity. This 1582 edition is notable for including a separate treatise on Turkish military customs by Francesco Sansovino, Informatione della Militia Turchesca, & de gli Habiti de Soldati Turchil. The 57 full-page engravings depict military scenes, soldiers and cavalry, Turkish bards and sultans, and a large folding chart.
