Pictorial History of the Civil War in the United States of America by Benson J. Lossing is one of the earliest post-war accounts of the Civil War. This beautiful three-volume set contains hundreds of in-text engravings depicting battle scenes, maps, and portraits along with facsimiles of Union and Confederate officers such as Lee, Bragg, Longstreet, Sheridan, Sherman, and Sumner. Lossing wrote this work in a pro-Union lean, providing American readers with a history of the war.
