Joannis Pauli Oliva’s In Selecta Scripturae Loca Ethicarum Commentationum Tomus Secundus In Esdram was published in Lyon by Anissonii et Joannis Posuel in 1677. Giovanni Paolo Oliva, Jesuit General from 1664 to 1681, wrote this commentary to draw moral lessons from biblical passages. This second volume addresses the Book of Ezra and Nehemiah chapters 1–2. It includes countless scriptural references including many to apocryphal books such as Judith and Tobit.
