1564 – Hebrew Dictionary – Sebastian Munster | Jewish Grammar, Rabbi Kimhi
Sebastian Münster’s 1564 Hebrew Latin dictionary, printed in Basel by Froben, compiles biblical Hebrew roots with Latin definitions and incorporates material from David Kimhi.
Sebastian Munster, a 16th-century scholar, was perhaps one of the very best cosmographers of his era. However, in addition to his studies of the world, Munster published important lexicons including this Hebrew and Latin dictionary. This Hebrew grammar book contains translations and definitions of biblical Hebrew words as well as text from Bible commentary and Sefer Mikhlol of 12th-century rabbi David Kimhi.
