1893 – Missale Romanum, Catholic Church | Decorative Gilt Binding, Bavaria Folio
Latin Tridentine Missal printed in Regensburg in 1893 by Pustet, bound in decorative leather with red and black text, full-page engravings, and musical notation.
A rare 19th-century Catholic missal. While missals from this era are not considered overtly rare, this example is quite desirable. Published in the Bavarian city of Regensburg (Ratisbone), this exquisite printing features a decorative cover, brass corners and clasps, full-page engravings, red and black text inks, and illustrated borders around the text pages. Like many missals, this book includes prayers, hymns, scripture and liturgical texts, as well as music/chant examples.
