1932 – King Kong – Delos Lovelace | First Edition – Famous SciFi Monsters!
First edition of King Kong by Delos Lovelace (1932), the official novelization predating the 1933 RKO film. Features pictorial endpapers of movie scenes and facsimile jacket.
King Kong is one of the most iconic monsters of film and literature of all time. First appearing in film in 1933, King Kong appeared in Grosset and Dunlap’s book form a year earlier. This 1932 ‘radio picture’ first edition includes illustrations of scenes from the ‘upcoming’ movie on the endpapers (stamped to boards as the pastedown).
