With steel engravings by John Preston Neale and brief historical descriptions, this volume captures a selection of country houses at the close of the Georgian era. These prints and texts were produced during a period of intense public interest in growing estates of England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. This particular volume focuses on notable residences across Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset, and surrounding areas. Each seat is shown in elevation and paired with a short printed note on the estate’s ownership and architectural history.
