History of Inaugurations of Kings is a rare, 18th-century account of inauguration ceremonies of royalty from around the world. Written by Louis Georges Salivet and Charles Joseph de Bevy, this work describes royal events from beginning in the Middle Ages through the mid-1700s including Constantinople, Peru and the Kingdom of Cusco, and France. Notable ceremonies include the inauguration of Charles VI, and many other French kings, including, perhaps most importantly, Louis XIV. Note that this 1776 edition includes impressive, full-page engravings depicting views of costume and clothing from inaugurations.
