Johann Albrecht Bengel’s Greek New Testament was a pioneering edition of biblical interpretation. Bengel’s edition, which first appeared in 1742, incorporated new divisions and distinct punctuations. Novum Testamentum Graecum was published in Oxford by Sheldon and it, along with Bengel’s other New Testament commentaries, were known to be highly influential to John Wesley and other Protestant theologians.
