The Appendix to Dr. Drake’s Anthropologia nova: or, New system of anatomy by James Drake was the first separately-published edition of the Appendix. The appendix was a set of 51 engravings with explanations illustrating human muscles, skeletal framework, internal organs reproductive and nervous systems, and even surgical instruments. The work as a whole was done with the collaborations of William Cowper.
