Focusing primarily on the voyages of Amerigo Vespucci and the letters of his four expeditions, this book also includes Toscanelli’s letters to Columbus, an elegy of Vespucci by Canovai, an account of Vasco de Gama at the Cape of Good Hope, and commentary on Marco Polo’s journeys.

This 1852 edition includes full-page engravings including a large, folding chart.
