1516 – Works of Ambrose, Bishop of Milan | Post-Incunable, Koberger Printed
Saint Ambrose’s Opera, 1516 Basel printing, includes volumes 1 and 3 with woodcut title page, theological works, and early Church writings in a folio format.
Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, is the most important ecclesiastical father of the 4th-century and has continually been an influence both in Milan and throughout the Western world even though he has been associated with persecutions of non-Christians.
Most of surviving writings are exegetical in nature; letters and essays in which he writes on faith, offices of the church, the Holy Ghost, mysteries of God, commentary of the Gospels and Old Testament, as well as funeral orations.
