Rees H ‘Captain’ Gronow was a 19^th-century Welsh author who published several works on reminiscences. While living in Paris, he wrote short works describing his experiences living in London and Paris, interactions with local celebrities, descriptions of entertainment and lifestyle, and anecdotes of persons living in Paris in the mid-19^th-century.

This collection of four ‘reminiscences’ contains full-page engravings illustrating European styles, costumes, clothing, dances, and formals. A fine two-volume set published in 1892 London. Notice the coat-of-arms of Gronow on the front of the volumes.
