- Karl William Scheufler (1898-1989) was an American pastor and missionary, army chaplain, and author. He and his wife Ada were employed as Methodist missionaries in China from 1921-1926. During WWII, he joined the army as a chaplain for the 355th AAA Searchlight Battalion, which served in Europe and North Africa; he would later publish his account of the experience in his book, “Carthaginians, Romans and Americans: overseas with the 355th AAA SLT BN.”
