Humayun was a 16^th-century Persian emperor of the Mughal Empire known for ruling over portions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Persian author Aftabaji Jouher wrote a biographical sketch of the life and military exploits of Humayun, a work which focuses heavily on his rivals including Sher Shah Suri, better known as Sher Khan.

 

This 1832 English translation of Jauhar’s “Memoirs of Humayun” was translated by Charles Stewart, bound in fine leather, marbled boards.
