    • Berryer
      • Pierre-Antoine Berryer (1790–1868) was a French advocate and parliamentary orator. He was the twelfth member elected to occupy Seat Four of the Académie française in 1852. After the second restoration he distinguished himself as a courageous advocate of moderation in the treatment of the military adherents of the emperor. Among the more noteworthy events of his subsequent career were his defense of Louis Napoleon after the affair of Boulogne in 1840.
    • Thomas du Cheyron du Pavillon
      • While the owner of this particular bookplate is unidentified, the coat of arms is consistent with the Cheyron du Pavillon family, which includes notable members such as Jean-François du Cheyron du Pavillon (1730–1782), a French Navy officer who served in the War of American Independence. He commanded the 80-gun Triomphant at the Battle of the Saintes and died of his wounds two days after the battle.
