However, he did write a curious picaresque novel “The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle” which proved to be quote popular throughout the mid-18^th-century. This work follows the humorous experiences of the title character noting his bad luck, successes, and misfortunes.

 

This 1794 edition was published in London by Cooke in four small tomes.
