Louis XVI, King of France was the final French monarch, crowned in June of 1775. Author Thomas Pichon commemorated the event with an impressive, beautiful book filled with French history, biographical sketches of notable French kings, and illustrated scenes of the coronation. These 32 engravings provide an excellent portrayal of costumes and architecture that were common amongst French courts in the 18^th-century.
