The ‘Thirty-Nine Articles’ of the Anglican Church was one of the most important and significant works of the Reformation and the 16th-century. They helped define statements of doctrines and practices of the Church of England focusing on the controversies of the English Reformation. This particular John Ellis 1694 edition contains the famed ‘Lambeth Articles’ – a series of nine additional articles which were written to justify many of the Calvinist doctrines of the late 16th-century. These articles cover predestination and justification by faith.
