Hardouin de Perefixe’s account of the life and reign of the 16^th-century monarch is perhaps one of the best biographical sketches of Henry IV. It first appeared in 1661 and was met with significant popularity throughout Europe, so much so, that an English edition was demanded shortly after its initial release.
