William Dugdale, a 17^th-century English historian, is most-known for his history of English aristocracy from Saxon times. His works are considered some of the most important works on genealogy and English royal families. One such work was his “Antiquities of Warwickshire” – a survey of the medieval history of Warwickshire by use of archival records in London. This book gained considerable report in England and was quickly considered as the model for 17^th-century English county histories.
