Cyprian was an Early Church bishop of Carthage from the 3^rd-century. Cyprian was the first to write about the primacy of the Pope as it was set out in “The Unity of The Catholic Church”. Most of his writings surround pastoral ministry, addressing many of the issues with the Roman government. He also determined prayer to be “the only refuge of the Christian”.

This 1632 first edition of the works of St. Cyprian includes the annotated commentary of Jacobus Pamelius. It was collected and edited by William Morel and Paolo Manuzio, an exceedingly rare and desirable huge vellum-bound folio!
