The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated Out of the Original Tongues was printed at Oxford by Samuel Collingwood and Co. in 1861. This set includes a second matching volume titled The Book of Common Prayer and the Administration of the Sacraments. Each book is bound in purple velvet with board edges trimmed in brass and original clasps still intact. The page edges are entirely gilt. This Oxford issue was sized to be carried or kept in a small devotional case. They are unpaginated and were printed to accompany personal religious use, not liturgical presentation. The presswork shows clean typesetting typical of Collingwood’s shop.
