Printed in Paris by the Veuve Didot, this tenth volume compiles primary narratives such as the voyages of Thomas Rhoe and François Bernier. Geographic reports cover regions including India, Vietnam, Tonkin, the Philippines, and Japan. Ethnographic details appear throughout, including observations on Hindu castes, Japanese currency and royal arms, and Muslim Fakirs. This volume contains 27 engraved maps and plates, including two maps of India, a Philippine archipelago chart, and a view of Nagasaki.
