Arrianou Eriktētos – Epictetus – 1535 | Greek Edition of Enchiridion
1535 Greek edition of Epictetus’s Enchiridion, edited by Rincavellius and printed by Zanetti in Venice. In original leather binding.
Arrianou Eriktētos. Arriani Epictetvs by Epictetus, printed in 1535 by Bartholomaei Zanetti in Venice is an early printing of The Enchiridion in its original Greek, edited by Victor Rincavellius. The original Greek advice manual focused on the philosophy of daily life – primarily that one should accept their own fate. The Enchiridion is famous for holding authority in both Christian and Pagan circles, few books can claim such a feat.
This edition is curiously void of any Latin translation or commentary; just the true unabridged Greek text.
