Idylles de Théocrite is a French-language edition of Theocritus’s ancient pastoral works, Idylls. Published in 1796 during the French Revolution, this edition was printed by Didot jeune in Paris and features Jean-Baptiste Gail’s French translation. It includes 19 engraved illustrations and features bright red morocco leather with gilt spine tooling and marbled edges. Truly a remarable.
