The history of Joseph and his brethren illuminated was printed around 1865 in London by Day and Son, known as lithographers to the Queen. This folio contains passages from Genesis chapters 37, 38, and 40, presented in chromolithograph engravings. The book included work by Owen Jones, Henry Warren, and Albert Henry Warren.

This copy features 26 unnumbered leaves, each bordered with ornamental patterns common in Victorian religious design. All leaves are printed in color and illuminated. Text is framed by decorative elements without any narrative illustrations. Page format and coloration match styles used in mid-19th century scripture presentations.

Condition:

Original hardcover red and gilt cloth shows mild fading and rubbing at extremities. Textblock is secure. Paper tone is consistent with age, with some foxing present. Text is readable, with vivid gilt and coloring. Gilt page edges exhibit wear and fading at the corners but otherwise remain bright.
