1671 1ed Fides Ecclesiae History of Greek & Oriental Christians Severus & Simon
Richard Simon was a 17th-century French divine who preached and lectured on philosophy throughout his career. His most important book was ‘Fides Ecclesiae Orientalis’, which was merely a translation of one of the tracts of Gabriel Severus (Metropolitan of Philadelphia, Ala-Shehr). According to the NCUK, Simon “gave this work as a supplement to first volume of ‘Perpetuity of the Faith Respecting the Eucharist’, whose authors he accused of having committed many gross errors.” Ultimately, this work was a description of the condition and history of Greek Oriental Christians.
