1509 – Ambrogio Calepino Dictionary | Post-Incunable Latin & Greek Lexicon
This rare 1509 Venice edition of Calepino’s Latin dictionary is a landmark multilingual lexicon and important Renaissance reference, printed in folio format.
Ambrogio Calepino was a 15th-century Italian lexicographer who is remembered only by his Latin dictionary. This undated Latin edition was published in 1509 in Venice. It should be noted that this particular edition is incredibly rare and desirable, not only because of the age, but because of the original tooled vellum and wooden boards.
