1793 – Plays of William Shakespeare | Famous Steevens’ Translation, 15 Volume Set

A rare set of the plays of William Shakespeare. This set includes the most famous works of Shakespearean theatre including Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado, and Merry Wives of Windsor. This edition uses the famous George Steevens corrections and edits. According to Lowndes,

“George Steevens editions superseded all previous editions and became the standard for future editors and publishers.”

This 1793 edition is extremely desirable as it includes each of the famed plays of Shakespeare, but it also features a historical commentary and account of English theatre by Edmond Malone.
