1888 Great Cryptogram – Donnelly | Francis Bacon Cipher Controversy, Shakespeare
Ignatius Donnelly was an American popular writer known for his writings on skeptical pseudoscience theories, unknown mysteries, and the great Shakespeare controversy. The latter was perhaps his finest claim to fame, with his work ‘The Great Cryptogram’ in which he proposed that the plays of Shakespeare were written by Francis Bacon. This book was heavily discredited, however, to this day, scholars and skeptics alike still wonder at the idea of Shakespearean theater being faked.
This 1888 edition contains 15 illustrations including fold out facsimiles.
