Her parents were Thomas Lennard, 1st Earl of Sussex and 15th Baron Dacre, and Lady Anne Fitzroy (the illegitimate daughter of King Charles II). Upon Thomas Lennard’s death, his earldom became extinct and his barony fell into abeyance, eventually falling to Anne, though she was his younger daughter. This armorial features the coats of arms of both the Lennard family and that of Barrett, from her first husband, Richard Barrett-Lennard, Esq. (d. 1716). Motto: POUR BIEN DESIRER
