Job Janszoon van Meekeren was a 17^th-century Dutch physician best-known for his surgical skills and instruction. His focus was on hand and metacarpal tendon surgery which was covered in his book ‘Observations of Surgery’. This book discussed the art of surgery in Amsterdam during Meekeren’s lifetime – a work which describes and illustrations numerous diseases, tumors, and deformities.

This 1682 first Latin edition contains 60+ woodcut engravings and was translated into Latin by Abraham Blasius.
