Concilii tridentini restitution – Tuppio – 1597 | Geneva, Anti-Council of Trent

Printed in Geneva, Concilii tridentini restitutioni, seu continuationi, a Pio IIII Pontificae anno 1562 by Laurentius Tuppio is a plea against the continuation of the Council of Trent and Pope Pius IV. When this work was written, there were serious complaints about the Council of Trent, especially as it pertained to the Augsburg Confession. Nobles and princes of the Holy Roman Empire accepted the Augsburg Confession and refused to attend the council. Tuppius presented the perspectives of anti-Tridentini thought.
