A rare and highly desirable early 17th-century edition of the works of Virgil. Virgil is regularly considered one of the greatest Roman poets because of his poems, Eclogues, Georgics, and Aeneid – some of the most important works of western literature. This 1778 English and Latin edition was translated into English by reverends Christopher Pitt and Joseph Warton.

Condition:

Very Good condition. All four volumes are uniformly bound in full leather, with secure and tight text blocks. Leather shows rubbing at the spines and edges but retains structural strength. All volumes are complete, including frontispieces and the folding map in Volume II. Pages are clean and well-preserved.
