While many of the stories contains themes of Greek mythology, the most prominent and important story for this book was ‘The Reluctant Dragon’. It was famously first issued without illustrations, though in 1902 illustrator Maxfield Parrish contributed his famous and highly desired art into an impressive, collectible edition.
