1891 1ed The Antonio Stradivarius Messiah Salabue VIOLIN Music Illustrated Hill
Stradivarius violins are unquestionably the most famous, popular, and beautiful string instruments to ever be made. During the 17th and 18th-centuries, Antonio Stradivari earned a reputation for creating instruments defined by their sound quality which has never been able to be reproduced. The Messiah-Salabue Stradivarius was a 1716 violin made by Stradivari and is considered to be the only ‘Strad’ to exist in its ‘like-new’ state.
This remarkable instrument was given to the W.E. Hill family who display it at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, and in 1891, the published a ‘report’ or story on the world’s most famous violin.
