He taught voice lessons, as well as young string players. One of his violin instructional works was ‘A Complete System for the Violin’ which offered lessons and technique on playing the violin from the most basic to more advanced skills.

 

This edition of Hanks violin manual concludes with a supplement of Jacob Otto’s treatise on the violin.
