Joseph Warren was an 18^th-century American patriot who is best-remembered for his role in the revolutionary organization in Boston. In fact, Warren, who served on the Massachusetts Provincial Congress, is responsible for enlisting Paul Revere to spread the alarm of the British raids on Concord. He fought in the Battles of Lexington and Concord as major general and was ultimately killed in action at Breed’s Hill. Warren’s death is often considered one of the turning points in colonial America’s revolutionary cause.

 

Author Rebecca Warren Brown wrote an important biography of Joseph Warren, a work filled with stories of his military, medical, and political careers. ‘Stories about General Warren’ includes notes about Paul Revere and early Revolutionary War battles.
