George Gordon Byron, more commonly known as Lord Byron, was an English poet and a prominent figure in the Romantic movement. He has always been regarded as one of Britain’s greatest poets. His play ‘Werner’, or ‘The Inheritance’ was his attempt to transform theater at the time. ‘Werner’ was an adaptation of Harriet Lee’s “Kruitzner” though it was poorly received at the time and has not gained much following since.
