William Hutton was an 18th-century English historian known for publishing important histories of English cities such as Birmingham, Derby, and Scarborough. One of his earliest works was a history of the Battle of Bosworth Field, a 15th-century battle during the War of the Roses. This battle is often considered one of the most defining events in English history, much in part to the death of Richard III in battle.

Hutton’s ‘Battle of Bosworth Field’ was first published in 1788, but this 1823 edition is considered much more desirable than the first. This edition features impressive illustrations including a map of the field, battle plans, and views of ornate bows and arrows found at the site of battle! Editor John Nichols included the original title page in this edition but added an additional 100+ pages of information not included in the first, including illustrations!
