1789 1ed Marrow of Modern Divinity SCOTLAND Scottish Marrow Controversy Falkirk
Edward Fisher was a 17th-century English anti-Puritan theologian who is best known for laying the foundation of the Marrow Controversy with his book ‘The Marrow of Modern Divinity’. The work, which was first published and 1645, was a collection of dialogues about church doctrine over atonement of sin and God’s unconditional grace. The book greatly upset the Church of Scotland all through the 17th-century, and even this 1789 Thomas Boston edition spurred numerous accusations of heresy.
This edition was published in 1789 by Patrick Mair in Falkirk, a relatively small Scottish printing town.
