Edmund Wingate was a 17th-century English legal writer who published numerous mathematics treatises. He wrote on concepts from basic arithmetic to complex logarithms many of which appear in his book ‘Plain and Familiar Method for Common Arithmetic’. This book, which first appeared in 1630, was published under numerous titles throughout the next century each of which outlined the general practices of mathematics concepts. This 1760 edition, like many before it, includes math problems, tables, and examples throughout edited by James Dodson.
