“Despite its similarity to the major sixteenth-century architectural treatises, the `Parallele’ is not simply a compilation of examples derived from earlier works — it is a statement of a new point of view. It is the first architectural treatise of the seventeenth century to propose a fresh look at earlier architectural treatises.”

‘Parallele’ was first translated into English by John Evelyn in 1664 and features incredible full-page engravings of statues, sculptures, columns, facades, and other impressive architectural feats. This edition was published in London by Walthoe and includes 35 fine, full-page engravings!
